These little 6x6'' and 4x4'' mini prairies are varnished acrylic on gallery canvas with 1.5'' profile. Each are original little pieces and they changed based on my recent experiences and travels. 

I grew up in the Northwest Territories and in my late childhood, I moved to Alberta. The shock of the endless land and silent fields took me a few years to adjust. 

My son and I wander down backroads throughout the seasons, watching the summer storms. He collects rocks, flowers and chases gophers while I photograph the fields.
